The Limpopo province of South Africa borders on Mozambique and Zimbabwe in the Northern region of South Africa, and is a premiere location on the entire continent of Africa for wildlife and eco-tourism. The province boasts a rich history, having once been home to such peoples as the VhaVenda and Shangaan, and also to famed African renegade Coenraad de Buys. Poachers, traders, and gold miners inhabited the region long ago, and made deals with Arab and Indian travellers who came down from the north. Many of the key attractions in Limpopo are parts of its gorgeous landscape. Tourists can visit the spectacular Baobab trees, very large trees that can be as much as 3,000 years old. Another of the popular attractions are the mineral water baths of Bela-Bela, near Limpopo's southern border. And one of the most magnificent aspects of Limpopo are the game drives of Kruger National Park, which extends partially into Limpopo and is home an enormous population of African wild life. Lions, Water Buffalo, and Elephants live side-by-side with elephants and rhinocerous, colorful populations of birds, and local tribes.
